The question was 'can we give a freshness score to a new lyric?' Freshness is again a subjective term like sweetness, which i blogged about a year back. Unused words, new coinages, comparisons, thoughts and many more can be attributed to freshness of a lyric. We wanted to find the most commonly used words, comparisons and rhymes. This list provides the top 100 words used in Tamil lyrics.
The list is based on our analysis of 1000 lyrics, a very small sample. Ranking may change when more lyrics are included for analysis.

Dear Mr. Madhan Karky,
This is an interesting analysis. Thanks.
Could you please mention the name of software used for the analysis and its availibility? As a researcher on Tamil palm leaves scripts, I would like to similarly analyse the texts which I have.
Thanks.
good analysis
I guess the 30th is not the actual Tamil word, it may be a musical note or something else.
நல்ல பதிவு !! வலைபூக்களில் தங்கள் அதிகம் எழுதுவது இல்லையா ?
super!!!!!
Sir i wonder how does this list does not have "AMMA" ?
Madhan,
Will it be possible for you to write a song with just these 100 word combinations?
Thanks - Gokul G
@srinivasan...they wrote more kavithai under the heading of more...but not with that words...in lyrics they prefer thaai then amma...it gives more probable choices for making ethukais
